STCS, along with the DICES community, participates in TECO visits

A total of 80 students with their parents and guardians witnessed Saint Therese Catholic School Inc. host the visitors from the Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines (TECO) on January 27, 2024, held at the school grounds.
Welcoming the visitors from TECO, the Theresian community, along with the attendees from various DICES schools, gathered with enthusiasm. Among those present were the school principal, Mr. Romar B. Reyes, the school director, Rev. Fr. Alain P. Manalo, and the school owner, Mr. George S. Go Sr.; the program was also graced by the presence of Mr. George L. Go Jr., Mr. Louie Francis G. Uy, and Mr. Billy Huang Ching Rong, a member of the school board of trustees. The Theresian Campus Ministry (TCM) added to the vibrant atmosphere by performing a delightful welcome dance for the esteemed visitors.
The visitors from TECO are Minister Cha-Ching Hsu, Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC); Ambassador Wallace Chow with her wife Madam Chow; Ms. Liao, Li-Yun, Chief of Overseas Students Education Section of OCAC; Director Chuang, Po-Chih, Culture Center of TECO; and Deputy Director Benjamin Liang, Culture Center of TECO Contact Person.
The visitors from TECO had the opportunity to view the scenery of the school as they went with the school administration, headed by Fr. Alain P. Manalo and Mr. Romar B. Reyes to have a campus tour. Moreover, they went to have a meaningful breakfast as they exchanged opinions with each other and got prepared before the program.
The program proper was commenced by the school master of ceremonies, Mr. Carl Angelo Casiño, and Ms. Charlenne G. Roque. A serene opening prayer was led by Ms. Kyla Edgianna B. Edillo, followed by Ms. Patricia M. Lacuarin, who showcased her talent for her intermission number as she sang a song that filled the air with sweetness.
Afterward, the discussion regarding Taiwan's school environment and vocational cooperative education program for students was presided over by Minister Cha-Ching Hsu from OCAC. The discussion lasted for about half an hour, covering several aspects of the program, including the time it takes to travel through Taiwan, their culture, and their program's eligibility requirements. The possibility of having Mandarin classes again in STCS was also tackled, and the designation of the school as the focal point of this scholarship program was granted by the school director. There were also leaflets distributed containing information on the scholarships, and there were keychains given to the students who actively participated during the discussion.
Furthermore, the students were given the chance to ask questions through the open forum. The selected students to ask questions were: Rdriannson E. Wenceslao from 12-STEM, Ashley M. Lambon and Rana Jael Papa Rico both from 11-STEM, and Frinzelle Bernal from 10-Obedience. The open forum between the guests and the students shed light on the knowledge of everyone in the event, which further prospered their insights for this lifelong benefit in their academics and careers.
The visitors from various DICES schools and the school personnel gathered to take pictures with the visitors from the TECO, and the students were also allowed to join the group photo after them. The closing remarks are led by the school principal, Mr. Romar B. Reyes, thanking the whole Theresians, the DICES community, and the TECO visitors who made this event possible. The program adjourned with the closing prayer led by Mr. Carl Angelo Casiño.
