Theresians’ shines at DICES Sports For Peace 2024

In a celebration of athleticism, camaraderie, and sportsmanship, Saint Therese Catholic School, Inc. made its mark at the DICES Sports For Peace 2024 held at the General Trias City Sports Park, from February 26 to March 5. Various Theresian athletes from different levels showcased their skills and competitive spirit, bringing home a slew of medals and honor that highlighted their dedication and expertise in various sporting disciplines.

Under the guidance of their amazing coaches, the student athletes of Saint Therese Catholic School exhibited remarkable talent and determination across different sports categories, proving that hard work and perseverance truly pay off.

In a display of Theresians wordsmith mastery and strategy, the Scrabble team led by Coach Ms. Patricia Lacuarin, composed by Zycka S. Rivera and Aldrin Florenze Reyel of the Senior High School level clinched the Bronze awards.

In the mind-stimulating game of Chess, Theresian chess masters showed their strategic mastery under the mentorship of Coach Ms. Kyla Edgianna Edillo. The team consisted of Rana Jael P. Rico and Eunicia Ray I. Baniqued of the Senior High School secured Bronze and Silver respectively. On the Junior High school level Brent Austin Bernal and Polo Rogello Dumlao both claimed the Bronze place. Meanwhile, Jan Lawrence L. Asuncion earns the Athletes for Peace for Chess Boys. 

Where thrills ignite at the table, the Table Tennis team under the mentorship of its Coach Ms. Maryjoy D.R. Ledesma dominated the Table Tennis arena. Gium Shei Castillo of the Senior High School clinched the Gold in the Girls' Singles category. On the other side, the Junior High School players Connie Shei Castillo and Daine Luna Badidles secured the Gold awards for Singles A and B category for girls respectively. Additionally, Renz Kenji De Leon clinched the silver award of the singles A for boys. 

Moreover, in the high-energy sport of Volleyball, the Senior High School Girls Category, under the guidance of its Coach Ms. Catrina Yzabela Azucena, secured the Silver medal in Bracket B. The following players led by their captain ball Allianah Mae Olaes were Dhea Amielei Brosas, Precious Anne Tibo, Cristine Casipit, Fianna Claire Betic, Merry Jane Rodriguez, Myla Buhi, Marie Teresita Salmo, Adrienne Faith Reyel, and Iliana May de Leon.

In the fast-paced world of Badminton, the Theresian Elementary excelled under the mentorship of Coach Ms. Liezel Velasco. Theresian players named Chandi Beatrice L. Ricafrente & Felicia Alexis F. Lumunsad of the elementary level secured the Silver in Doubles for Girls. In addition, the badminton team for Senior High School composed of Justine Olaes and Manny Española clinched the Gold place.

The Saint Therese Catholic School's outstanding performance at the DICES Sports For Peace 2024 not only highlights the students' athletic prowess but also underscores the school's commitment to holistic development and excellence in sports. From rival schools to fellow competitors, every participant played a crucial role in making the event a success. As these young athletes continue to strive for greatness, they will serve as an epitome of dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship, embodying the true spirit of Sports For Peace.
